Sunday Funday Yoga
Yoga is all about the journey. It's not about what it looks like, it's about what it feels like. All you need is your breath and your heart. An 80 minute inward journey of exploration and discovery. Along on this journey we will prepare, and then continue toward performing a peak pose, before settling into a peaceful Savasana.
Sundays 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM
Core yoga is a vigorous type of yoga that helps to develop communications with our body, mind, and spirit. This type of practice allows us to access our spiritual core. Giving us a deeper sense of our inner strength. It's an empowering practice that presents the opportunity to challenge ourselves.
Mondays 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM and Saturdays 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
The Ashtanga method as taught by Sri K Pattabhi Jois is a series of postures that are building blocks for many popular yoga styles including vinyasa flow. Return to the source and begin learning the sequence known as the Primary Series. The Primary Series is known to be challenging, in ways like power yoga, but more importantly it was meticulously designed to be therapeutic, meditative and purifying. Once learned, the student has the key to ownership of their practice and freedom to practice where and whenever they want. Knowing this sequence also enables students to participate harmoniously in other Ashtanga classes all over the world.
Mondays 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM
This class is designed to cultivate body awareness ad allow students to focus on proper alignment, by slowing down the flow and deepening holds. The Pilates that we teach at SoSa Yoga is derived from the traditional vinyasa yoga system that is practiced in many gyms around the United States. We use the traditional yoga poses to maintain the posture and the form. The majority of the effort in the program is present during the transition from pose to pose. An example would be; four sets of Chaturanga push-ups, 10 repetitions per set. Multiple contractions, moving with the breath while remaining calm and focused. It’s an enlightening and exhilarating experience.
Pilates, like yoga, is a dance with a breath.
Fridays 6:00 AM - 6:55 AM
